IdeaTek is partnering with a White House initiative to bring free internet service to those who qualify for the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program, or ACP.  Students who qualify for free and reduced-price lunches also qualify for free internet access at their homes. IdeaTek is one of 20 internet service providers from across the nation to partner with the White House to offer this program to low-income families.

The free internet plan includes speeds of up to 100 Mbps in both fiber and wireless areas. To qualify for ACP, one member of the household must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Has an income that is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
  • Participates in certain assistance programs, such as SNAP, Medicaid, Federal Public Housing Assistance, SSI, WIC or Lifeline
  • Is approved to receive benefits from the free and reduced-price school lunch program.
  • Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year
